Java(TM) Platform SE binary is not responding (Game crash)

I open up the launcher and click play, after this, The Mojang logo appears but then stops responding. when I click close (mind you I have waited 30 minutes) it says "Java(TM) Platform SE binary is not responding". I have tried repairing it and uninstalling it and reinstalling it nothing seems to work. please fix this. I am disappointed as this was a birthday gift that got ruined.
