Unable to leave bed after daytime comes

When I am trying to leave my bed after nighttime, I am unable to exit the bed by pressing the "Leave Bed" button or the escape key. The only solution is to close out the window in which Minecraft is running. I found earlier reports of this problem, but they are all marked resolved.
