using a spawn egg on grass can spawn the mob inside the block/Grass block data broken

Picture below displays exactly that - when spawning a mob using a spawn egg, the mob can be placed inside the grass block as if it were a transparent decorative block like Tall Grass. The mob suffocates when it falls through. Seems to happen exclusively with spawn eggs; naturally spawned mobs are not affected by this.
