Player skin not showing in Beta versions

(Ignore the “Affects Version/s” because there no option for beta 1.5) My player skin shows perfectly fine when I’m playing in recent updates. Yesterday I decided I wanted to play a custom survival island map in beta 1.5, but my skin didn’t show so I reuploaded my skin to see if it would change but nothing happened. So I looked up possible solutions but I couldn’t find anything about beta versions. I know you can have a custom skin in beta versions because I’ve seen people on YouTube playing in beta 1.1 or above with custom skins.
