Shot arrows not working

Attempting to shoot an arrow from the crossbow,bow, or even a dispenser results in the arrow stopping mid air before even hitting the mob unless you are right on top of it. Arrows stop 8-9 blocks away then teleport to 2-3 blocks from shooting point. It's like they hit an barrier without there being a barrier.
