smoke gets thicker and creates lot of lag

smoke from a camp fire seems to thicken when loaded for a while in a laggy place. also while it is thickened it stays being produced even if you break the camp fire. it itself is very laggy and makes the lag way worse. as far as I know the only way to fix this is by reloading the world.
