Elytra causes Player model to flicker at high speeds

The bug:

Activating the Elytra and travelling at high speeds causes the player model to flicker at random intervals.

This issue dates back to the release of snapshot 19w08b  where, under certain circumstances, the player model would flicker on elytra activation.
