13w16a Server item in hand bug

Me and my friend played snapshot 13w16a on a server. We found a bug:

There is a bug with the items in hand. when we place blocks it puts a random items in our hand Like a sword or shovel. Also sometimes when we try to mine something with a pickaxe it doesn't show anything in our hands.
