Crashing on launch

I am running 1.13.2 on windows 10, with an i5 6400, and GTX 960, with 16GB of RAM. For some reason I cannot launch minecraft at all, I get to the launcher click "play" and then it either disappears or the game says "not responding", ad stays like that for hours. If I manage to get into the game a short while after it will stop responding once again.  I am running Java 8 191
