Torches, levers and buttons can be placed on any type of door.

Blocks such as buttons, levers, and torches can be placed on any type of doors. You shouldn't normally be able to place those types of blocks on doors as they will automatically get destroyed when the door is opened. Also, this isn't possible to do with trapdoors, only doors seems to be affected with this issue
