Vindicators not breaking doors but instead standing in attack pose for a while

During a raids on a villages, vindicators were chasing villagers. When the villagers ran into houses, instead of breaking down the door, they just stood there with their axes in their hand for a while before walking off and turning normal. This didn't happen for just 1 vindicator. It happened to all vindicators. It happened in every world I played. It even happened on hard.
