Trees turning into dirt

i noticed many logs in my world are turning into dirt and even the leaves as well but also i  have only see it happen to birch and oak tress but it could be more, its happening to a lot of trees somewhat quickly but i have not seen it happen but i know its happening because when i return to areas the the trees are dirt.
