Pressure plates and buttons remained powered if used to teleport with commands

I designed a very simple teleportation contraption consisting of a pressure plate, a block and a command block directly under that. To teleport, I step on the pressure plate and it would activate a command to bring me wherever I set the command, this did work, however, the plate would remain active once I brought myself back to the teleportation station. The photo I've attached just shows the contraption.
