Chunks take a very long time to load in on some 1.14 servers.

Upon joining my server, you have to wait upwards of 30 seconds for the world to load in around you.

 

In this time period, you can't move, you can't see anything, but you can hear sounds.

 

This happens every time someone joins (and only to that player).
