Horse becomes invisible when using Iron horse armor

When playing in a solo survival world I came to a village and found iron horse armor in a blacksmith chest. when I equipped it on my horse it became invisible. It appears to only be a problem when the armor is equipped. Maybe its that the texture was removed?
