Shulker boxes cannot be dyed, resulting in duplication

Using a Shuker Box with pink dye in a crafting table. Though luck you can place the Shuker box down and then place it up and for some reason, the item doesn't get removed from the crafting table. If you quickly take both and close the table you can keep the item. To perform the glitch. Get two items and open the crafting table. Then keep moving them and you'll get them to dupe.

 

(10/25/2018) Update: 

Hey after coming back to my world it gets weirder. The Cloned Shuker Boxes are empty... I don't know what caused this but I still can't make dyed Shuker boxes which were why I discovered this in the first place. The blocks that were cloned still exist but the items stored there doesn't. It's like the crafting recipe for dyed shuker boxes is broken the game can't handle me moving the boxes. In my testing, this bug is handled very odd. It's cloned the box and erased them in the ui. It's also erased from the inventory once and when I placed it down
