Game Does Not Save on Quit

When quitting with command + Q the game exits out and does not save the current game state. A level.dat_old is created, which can be used to restore the world.

The game is properly saved when using command + Q in 1.12.2

The game is also properly saved when using alt+cmd+esc to force-quit a healthy game; the pause screen/GUI appears before it switches to the force-quit window, which I would guess causes the game to save.
