Tamed horses turn invisible when equipped with any horse armor. They also freeze the game when hit

My tamed horse turns invisible when i equip it with any kind of horse armor. Also if I hit them when they are invisible (equipped with armor) it makes my screen black and possibly crashes the game too (I alt+f4 when that happens)
