Trident dissappears when it hits a player while PVP is disabled

When you throw a trident on a player without the loyalty enchanment, it bounce off from the player, fall on the ground and disappears. When you walk to the block where it dissappeared, you hear the "pick-up" sound but the trident doesn't appears in the inventory. It's gone!
