Cannot connect to autorization server under kubuntu 18.04

using kubuntu 18.04 game install and launches  fine and SSP plays fine but when attempting to play multiplayer it cannot reach authorization servers.

have done all updates on os and minecraft tried previous versions having the same issue disabled all firewalls and tried many different connections and multiple accounts

everything work perfectly fine under a windows installation
