Piston Activating without a valid source

I was experimenting with t-flip flops when I came across this bug. I first placed two blocks beside eachother in the air and put a redstone torch on one and redstone dust on the other. then I placed pistons on the blocks beside the block underneath the redstone. the pistons, and sticky pistons activated without a proper source
