Problem displaying Chinese left bracket "（ "

This bug affects display of the Chinese left bracket: "（ ", it instead displays as a box.

This bug only affects the left bracket, not right.

I discovered this bug when I used Chinese language when playing in Hypixel.

 

What expected to happen:

Displays normally as a Chinese bracket in 1.9~1.12.2.

 

What happened:

Bugged as a colored box shown in the screenshots.

 

Step to reproduce:

1. You do not need to switch to Chinese language in game.

2. Use a Chinese IME or copy and paste the bracket here: "（ "
