Structure block detect does not work

When I use a structure block with a corner block and press detect it gives an error message

This bug occurs in both 1.12.2 and 1.13pre9

The screenshots are from 1.12.2 but the error message is the same in both

Edit: I forgot to add I  also tested minecraft:test and test:test in both versions
