Game at Retina resolution on macOS

When running the game on a retina display in macOS 10.13.5 (and Mojave, but not currently using it) the game runs at a max resolution of 3360x2100 instead of what my display actually supports. This is a HUGE drain on performance for some. Going fullscreen with the correct resolution works, however choosing the native macOS fullscreen option causes the 3360x2100 resolution to activate. On top of that, the fullscreen resolution slider.
