Command block not outputting '/time query gametime'

The bug

I have a command block with the command /time query gametime in it. When powering the command block, it does not output [@: Time is <time>].

As you may notice in the screenshots below, I tried it in 1.12.2 as well. In the bottom left you can see time output on 1.12.2, but not in 1.13-pre6
