Jukebox action bar messages don't have smooth transitions

The bug

In every version up to 1.8, the jukebox message for when someone put in a disc had a rainbow transition that was smooth until it faded away. After 1.8 the jukebox message got a noticeably rough color change near the beginning of the animation. From inspection, it seems that the first color of the jukebox is "hanging" until it finally updates to continue the smooth transitioning.

How to reproduce

Observe the text color change of a disc in a jukebox in Minecraft 1.8 or older
Repeat in the newest versions
