Can't leave bed and land on grass path

The bug

Used grass path for the floor in a building around a bed. The ceiling was 2 blocks above the floor. When I woke up, I was standing on the bed with my head in the ceiling suffocating. apparently, you can't get out of bed onto a grass path.
