Still Crashing

I have recently downloaded Minecraft onto a MacBook. After installation, the screen blacked out and returned half a minute later with an error report. I went to the Mojang website as suggested and looked up what the error might be. I followed the instructions for a "org.lwjgl.LWJGException" error report and did a force update. The system updated the game normally and after the update, I was greeted with the same error. I have made attempts to update Java and retry opening Minecraft, hoping that could have been a possible problem, but the error report persists. I am unable to attach the crash report at this time due to my inexperience with Apple Computers. Could you help me figure out if I'm doing something wrong?
