Realm download sets level to 0

WHen I download my realm to fix a setting. I.e. I forgot to turn friendly fire to OFF the realm downloads and I start new spawn at level 0 with nothing I had in my inventory still there.   I should have loaded at a different location with 14 levels.     How are us supposed to,fix your settings ?  

I have attached picture of,where I am supposed to be. But that is NOT where I am when I download game and hit play
