Exception generating new chunk - OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

After playing on the snapshot for a few hours my world started to have some block lag then completely stopped dropping items and the game then crashed about 40 seconds after it stopped producing drops. When reloading the world the issues of no drops persists and the game crashes within less and less time of being open. When attempting to click "save and quit" before crashing the game will no longer respond resulting in another crash.  I apologize in advance if this issue has been posted but I did my best to search and found zero answers or posts. This issue was present in 1.13 pre 1 however I didn't know how to submit reports.
