1.13 pre-release 2 crashes when opening fence recipe

When opening the fences recipe in the recipe book and selecting a fence type (in this case, birch fences) the launcher immediately saves the world and then crashes. A large collection of sticks also apparently disappeared from my inventory after my first attempt to create birch fences.
