Map in overworld showing mostly gray

I had a map in my base and accidentally popped one off this morning. When I looked at it, it had become mostly gray but showed a few other random things. I made new maps of the area and the same thing is happening.

The world was created in 18w14b and has been upgraded up to 18w20c.
