Unable to place boats and minecarts.

Whenever I try placing a boat, nothing happens.
OK, I was in creative,in single player no LAN, after logging out it was not fixed,after reloading was not fixed, but when I went back to 1.5.0 it did work. and yes it is reproducible easily
