Ink particles' colour is different from different side?

Ink particles have a pure black colour when the player observe them from above, but have a grey colour when the player observe them from below.
I did search for similar issues before I created this issue, but it seems no one thinks this behaviour of ink particles is strange. Is it a designed feature?
