Thrown tridents sometimes pass through ghast fireballs

The bug

When hitting a ghast fireball with a thrown trident, it will usually deflect the fireball as intended, but uncommonly, the ghast fireball and the trident will also pass right through each other as if they never collided.

How to reproduce

Press F3 + b (for better observation of hitboxes) and hit many fireballs from the ghasts back by throwing trident. About 1/5 of them will not be deflected.
