Glass sometimes appears to connect to air

A wall I constructed in 1.12 suddenly had all the glass windows behaving as if they were only connected to air (a narrow column of glass) when loaded in the latest snapshot. I demolished and rebuilt the connected blocks and the problem vanished. Of course, I didn't take screenshots and I can't find anywhere else that is behaving like this.
