Sea Pickles dry up lava, do not burn

Sea pickles, when placed in still lava, like in a lava lake, dry up the source block, and prevent neighboring lava from flowing into the space. They do not burn up either. This may be intended behavior, but it's a little illogical considering they're organic water-based plants and shouldn't interact with lava in this way.
