Tridents with Riptide disappear after using in survival

I was testing the new Trident changes for Riptide, and it worked fine. Once I used it in survival, it completely disappeared. No item, no thrown trident, nothing. It just vanished

I only had Riptide on the Trident, and I was in a large pool with various fish if any of that helps
