Duplication glitch in 1.12.2

I have discovered a glitch (in Survival) that may allow duplication of any item. My actions:

I picked up my furnace and crafting table, intending to move them. Since they didn't go into my hotbar, I opened my inventory so as to move them there. There were now two crafting tables and three furnaces in my inventory, but I only put one of each in my hotbar. I then closed the inventory window- with the "X" button on the Minecraft window. In other words, I accidentally closed the whole game without saving. After expressing my stupidity, I restarted Minecraft and reopened my world. When I got back in, I still had two crafting tables and three furnaces in my inventory (but none in my hotbar), as well as a furnace and crafting table sitting out, right where they had been before I picked them up. I picked them up again, and now had three crafting tables and four furnaces in my inventory. It seems that Minecraft saved the addition of a furnace and crafting table to my inventory, but not the removal of the same from my house. So I got an extra furnace and crafting table. I haven't tried to reproduce this glitch, but it might work with anything.
