Horse Spawn Eggs will only spawn White horses with no markings

I have been building stables in creative mode recently, and for that I have spawned a ton of horses. The problem is that all the horses I spawn are white, instead of having multiple colors. I don't know if this is with spawneggs only or if it also affects naturally generated horses, although I'm still yet to see any colored horses in the recent snapshots
