Distance of different Minecarts act strange

When launching different minecarts with a booster rail, they all basically just act different. I made a few tests, and these are my results: Minecarts with chests or hoppers in them travel about 50 blocks with the help of a single booster rail, while normal minecarts only reach 7-8 blocks. This means Minecarts with hoppers/chests travel about 7 times further than those without. Things get weird if you put a normal minecart on the rail in front of the minecarts before activating them.(Left out the TNT here after blowing the half thing up) I marked the final positions of the minecarts with gold blocks. the diamond blocks show the final position of the minecart placed in front of the different types.
