Newest update locks screen

After the newest update, the screen wont allow me to go past the mode select screen (Single/multiplayer ect). Occasionally if it goes past that, it immediately freezes on the next screen. Running previous updates allows everything to work properly.
Does anyone know if this is a bug/glitch? If not, what could cause this on my end?
