Sniper duel advancement can be achieved with trident, but the description implies only arrows may be used

The bug

If a skeleton is killed with a trident from more than 50 blocks away, it will grant the sniper duel advancement. The description of Sniper Duel is "Kill a skeleton with an arrow from more than 50 meters".
