Stuck sprinting in creative mode

When you press the sprint key in creative mode, you enter sprint mode, but when you release it you remain in sprint mode until you land. Not even running into objects while flying exits sprinting. If you stop moving (don't press any movement keys) you will still move fast when you begin moving again.
