Some weird crafting problems

Tried crafting a work bench/work table/crafting table, and was unable to make one. However, I remembered something from the previous snapshot and wanted to recreate that in survival on the current snapshot, and got charcoal, and found it works for 2-4 logs. I decided to test with some cobblestone, and got some normal stone. Don't know if it's just me, or others have it, but I wanted to at least mention it.
