Commands supporting selectors in their message recognize invalid selectors but show no syntax help

Commands which support selectors in their message, like /say or /msg show errors when selectors are invalid, but do not show the selector syntax help.

How to reproduce

Type or copy the following command

/say @e[

→ The incomplete selector is detected but no syntax help is shown
