Item frames duplicate items when broken by a player in the same tick as a piston

When an item frame is broken by a player right before a piston extends into the block the item frame occupies, the item in the frame drops twice.

What I expected to happen was...:
The frame drops itself as an item and the item contained inside.

What actually happened was...:
The frame drops itself as an item and the item inside is duplicated/dropped twice.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place an item frame on a block, with a piston facing into the block the frame occupies
2. Connect the piston to a lever or other redstone input device and add a delay using repeaters, such as in the structure
3. Use the lever
4. Right before the piston extends, left click the item frame to break it
The duplication may not occur every time.
