Game crashes on launch

when attempting to launch game in any version, I click 'play' then 'multiplayer.' when i select the desired server to join, the game does not respond ("Not Responding" in window). When i X out of window, i receive a message saying "Game has crashed." we have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, the same condition remains. we are unable to get any technical help.
