Pistons Have Odd Retracting

Pistons are retracting strangely. They push normally but when it comes to retracting it glitches and seems to flicker, making it so that it doesn't pull the blocks it should.

What I expected to happen was...:
What I expected to happen was four sticky pistons pushing two sticky pistons and pushing out a block and then retracting the block and the two sticky pistons.

What actually happened was...:
The sticky pistons pushed the block, and then when the power to the pistons went out, the ones that pushed the block in the first place flickered and left the blocks in place, but was brought back into the original position.
