Unable to write in Book and Quill after being renamed in an Anvil.

After renaming a Book and Quill to "Diary" in an Anvil. I was unable to edit any text in it.
I was able to open the book and see the blinking bar.
But after several attempts, I was unable to write any text.
I was in Creative mode at that time.
